Completed in early 2014, the Child Life Zone at St. Paul Children’s Hospital is a state-of-the-art, therapeutic play area where pediatric patients and their families can play, learn, laugh, and relax. It is at once a sanctuary, a place to learn, a hang-out, a game center – and a place to be the star of your own show.

With nine zones and more coming, the Teammates for Kids Foundation has worked with over 3,300 professional athletes from every popular professional sport to develop and implement innovative concepts that generate funds for the benefit of children’s charities.

Architect Rex Carpenter of HKS Denver believes in the tremendous opportunity architects possess to make people’s lives better. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Teammates for Kids Foundation, founded by Troy Aikman and Garth Brooks, and led the design of this project.

The Child Life Zone is staffed by child life specialists, certified professionals who help children and their families cope with difficult medical challenges through play, education, and self-expression.

Atmosphere Commercial Interiors is both proud and humbled to have partnered with this team in creating a place where families can connect and a kid can be a kid.
