Society Insurance

Society Insurance is a business insurance provider headquartered in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. To support their expansion into additional states, Society began a renovation of their current building to better utilize the space, recruit additional workers, and create a neighborhood concept that accommodates teams with a mix of workstations, collaboration and meeting spaces.

The project began in 2019 with a visit to Steelcase headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan and an introduction to the pilot program that would allow Society Insurance to evaluate product options and furniture layouts. Through user group sessions and evaluations, the project team partnered to develop a space that supported Society’s building transformation goals.

With the onset of COVID-19 and subsequent transition to working from home, plans were reevaluated and a redesign of the space ensued. The final design provides a neighborhood concept for teams that includes studio and other flexible workspaces. By living together, teams are able to accelerate the flow of information and problem solving.
